This week on Coffee Design we’re focusing on Greenstreet Coffee out of Philadelphia and their brilliant bright green and white branding by Nicole Saltzer. For over 10 years, the team at Greenstreet Coffee has been roasting and selling coffee in Philadelphia. The team recently added a 5lb quad-seal v-cut roto printed bagย to their lineup, ensuring wholesale customers and those who prefer to buy in bulk the same experience as those buying smaller quantities.
We spoke with founder Chris Molieri to learn more.
Tell us about Greenstreet Coffeeโyou all expanded to a garage roastery in 2012โhow long had you been selling coffee at markets before? How have you all grown since the garage expansion in 2012?
We started at farmers markets in 2011 and located our roastery in 2012. We’ve served so many great establishments in the Philadelphia area over the past 10 years and ushered in specialty coffee sourced almost always from Royal NY.
Talk about the brandingโwho designed it? What are some of the design elements?
Our updated branding work is done by Nicole Saltzer. She helped us put together new packaging design for our bags that was based off of a mural she painted outside the roastery. She developed that into a custom pattern that is now on all of our bags. She also made an updated labeling system for our single origins and blends. All other branding elements branch off of those core designs.
Tell us about the new 5lb quad-seal v-cut roto printed bag packaging!
Weโre super excited about the new 5lb bags. Not just our wholesale accounts like to get coffee in bulk, so we wanted to make sure everyone was getting the same experience no matter how much coffee they bought. Having a 5lb resealable bag is perfect for anyone who wants to save a little on price and stock up on their favorite blend!

What are some coffees you’re currently excited about?
I am excited about our Sumatra Mandiri from Aceh that is FTO certified and certified by Pennsylvania Certified Organic. I am also very excited about our newest micro-lot from Narino Colombia by Claudio Cabrera, and lastly we love our Congo Umoja from Mighty Peace.
Where is your coffee available?
Five area Whole Foods, Metropolitan Bakery, check out the Tricycle Cafe and also a couple of our newest wholesale accounts are Next Stop Coffee in Ardmore and El Chingon in East Passyunk.
What’s next for Greenstreet?
Maybe a partnership with a bakery for a new Roastery and Cafe or a new Roastery and Coffee Bar.
Thank you!
