Introduce yourself to our readersโtell us about your cafe!
Naughty Coffee currently operates two coffee shops, both out of converted VW Vans. They both locate and operate from inside shopping malls. Our first original concept was built in 2019, located inside the Aventura Mall (North Miami) and has successfully been brewing for three years now. Our second concept was opened two months ago and is located inside Dadeland Mall (South Miami).
What equipment do you use in your shop?
When we built our first coffee truck back in 2019 we had one La Marzocco Mini and a Mahlkรถnig Peak. Since then, we got one more Mini and a GS3 as well as a Simonelli Mythos. With all that equipment we can handle a lot more volume. At our second VW we have a two-group La Marzocco Linea PB, EK43s for our pour-over station, and Mythos grinder for our espresso blend.
Which roaster or roasters do you serve?
We have been serving Counter Culture Coffee since day one.
What is the neighborhood like where youโre located? Whatโs some other cool stuff nearby?
As both locations are located in the malls we get a lot of new customers daily, most of them attracted by our unusual concept. However, our mission was always to provide customers with great hospitality and exceptional drinks, so they can eventually count on a good cup of coffee every time that they are in the mall or in the neighborhood.
Us, the owners, have spent most of our working life in the hospitality industry. We always strive to create a friendly working environment for our baristas. We believe if they have a great working environment then our customers will feel like they are a part of something bigger too. Happily, all of our staff members have been with us for the past three years and our regular customer base has grown from 20% to 50-60%. In a fast-paced environment like the shopping mall it really made us happy and humbly proud. It also gave us more motivation to think about what is ahead and see how far we can grow.
